Virtueller Kreis

FGK Research Project 1999

Project Virtual Circle

Project leader: Peter Kleinferchner

Deutsche Version

Basic Idea

We are looking for people who are able to generate an artificial crop circle picture with a computer. The picture should be as realistic as possible. It should not be possible to distinguish it from a real picture.

Background

The motivation for this project was the virtual circle at Silbury Hill which has been published in the internet in 1998 (see FGK Report 3/98).

We also want to verify if the computer program of the "Team Satan" keeps its promise. You can load this MAC program from the Cropcirclemaker Homepage.

Goal of the Project

We want to find out if it is possible to distinguish pictures with real circles from artificial circle pictures which have been created with a computer.

Task

The circle can be generated either in an unripe or ripe field (inclusive landscape etc.). The picture should look like a real photograph of a real circle. A simple, but realistic picture will be of higher value than a complex formation which looks artifical. An overal  harmonic and realistic impression is important. The original picture with the empty field must be submitted as well!

Jury

The jury will be established by experienced crop circle photographers of the FGK.

Deadline

The deadline for submissions is  June 1st 1999

Please send your crop circle pictures (inclusive the original image without circle) on a 3 1/2 inch floppy to
